Julia Bringloe-Stalker

SSG/CW2 Julia Bringloe-Stalker entered the Army at age 35 as a combat medic, deployed to Iraq, returned as an NCO, and applied to flight medic school.  She led from the front completing two additional combat tours and served as a Mountain DUSTOFF Standardization instructor. SGT Bringloe and her crew conducted multiple hoist extractions during Operation Hammer Down under intense enemy fire, high altitudes, and deteriorating weather. Despite a leg fracture SGT Bringloe never hesitated to continue during the three-day mission.  Despite being exposed to concentrated enemy fire she extracted multiple patients by hoist. SGT Bringloe became the 8^th women to receive the Distinguished Flying Cross for Valor. She was also awarded an Air Medal with “V” Device. She is an outstanding example of the spirit of Major Charles Kelly executing the lifesaving mission under intense enemy fire, deteriorating weather, and exposure at the end of a 150-foot hoist cable. Julia Bringloe-Stalker is a shining star example of dedicated and unhesitating willingness to put service above self. Julia Bringloe-Stalker was inducted into the DUSTOFF Hall of Fame on March 23, 2024
